Please find detailed below some introductory information for this half term (Autumn 1). Newsletter with updates on will be sent out as frequently as possible and you can also find an e-copy of these lower down this page. Please see details below about homework. If you wish to speak to me, please catch me after school or for a longer chat book an appointment, as before school is a very busy period of time. This half term...
ALL UKS2 - In Maths this half term we will be focusing on the four rules of number, shape, fractions and geometry skills. In English we will be studying Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, persuasive writing and poetry. In Science we are investigating Light and in Geography exploring Volcanoes. RE will focus upon religious practices in Nottinghamshire and in Computing the children will create multimedia presentations and begin a Coding and Debugging topic. In PE the children will play Lacrosse and take part in a rotation of multi-skills with Harvey Stevens and team.
Year 5 – All Year 5 children will receive the same homework across both classes. Each week they will receive a times table activity, a Maths activity and an English activity which will be appropriate to their Year 5 age group.
Year 6 – All Year 6 children will receive the same homework across both classes. Each week they will receive a times table activity, a Maths activity and an English activity which will be appropriate to their Year 6 age group.
Homework will be handed out each Thursday and returned by the children the following Thursday. Occasionally this may alter, however we will let you know on our UKS2 newsletters. Additionally, there may also be a topic based homework that will be in place of the usual 3 piece homework.
PE is on Wednesday afternoons (outdoor) and Friday mornings (outdoor). Please ensure your child’s outdoor PE kit is in school on these days, labelled with their names. DARE for Y6 on Friday, Y5 will do Choir, and remaining Y5's are Y1 Reading Buddies with Miss Evans class.
