Welcome to our Year 3 Class!

  Mrs Cains teaches on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays and Mrs Gilbey teaches on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

  Mrs Smith supports in some sessions during the week.

  Key Information:

 In the Autumn term, all children will require an indoor P.E. kit (school sports top/t-shirt, shorts and clean trainers or plimsolls)

 for fitness and agility sessions with Gordon Fearn. This will take place every Friday morning.

In the Spring term we will begin our outdoor Lacrosse sessions with Mike. (This will be in place of our Friday P.E.) Lacrosse will 

take place every Wednesday afternoon on the field. Children will need a warm outdoor P.E. kit for the winter months along with 

suitable footwear eg. trainers. The field can be very muddy, therefore it would be very useful to send a named plastic bag for your child to carry their trainers to and from the field and to put muddy/damp clothing in to bring home. Sessions will commence on Wednesday 16th January 2019.

 Weekly times table and spelling tests will take place every Wednesday morning, commencing Wednesday September 12th 2018. All children will need their yellow times table book in school on test days (where appropriate) and their red spelling book.

In the summer term, spellings will be tested on Mondays with new spellings to learn handed out the following day. Times table tests will move to Thursdays and new practice sheets will be given out on the Friday.

 As mentioned in the weekly newsletter, an old named shirt or t-shirt would be very useful for your child to wear during art 

 and craft activities this year.

 Dukes Barn Residential: We will be taking all Year 3 children to the Dukes Barn activity centre in Chatsworth, Derbyshire  for two nights from Wednesday 19th June to Friday 21st June 2019. 

 A Lower Key Stage 2 booklet is sent home with each child at the beginning of the academic year outlining the

 topics/units of work and general information about the year ahead for your information.
