Reception - Mrs Gibbens / Mrs Hopkinson

Ten Little Dinosaurs

We have been learning the book 'Ten Little Dinosaurs' through Talk for Writing. Here is a part of the story we have performed for you to enjoy.

Hello!

We would like to extend a very warm welcome to all the children and parents of our Reception class

September 2020

The Reception Team this year:

Mrs Gibbens will be teaching Monday, Wednesday and Friday

Mrs Hopkinson will be with us all week.

Mrs Verner will be with us Tuesday and Thursday.

How to contact us

We can be contacted via our email: GibbensEvansRec@st-peters.notts.sch.uk

We will check this regularly, but suggest you contact the school office on 01949 20226 if you have an urgent enquiry.

Reminders...

  • PE will continue on a Wednesday and children will come dressed in their kit on these days. As it gets colder, the children will need to wear longer sports trousers such as leggings or jogging bottoms.

  • Every morning the children will be offered water and a small snack, usually fruit but sometimes carrots as well. Milk is given to children in the afternoon and is free until they have their 5th birthday. At this point, you will need to register with Cool Milk and pay a termly fee for this to continue. Water is available all day and we remind the children at certain points to have a drink.

  • We will be using our Outside Classroom daily and in all weathers, so it is important that the children have suitable clothing for this. A waterproof coat is essential for wet weather and we recommend sun hat and lotion for those few sunny days we have in this country!

  • And finally.... please LABEL EVERYTHING that your child brings into school. That way, we can usually find it when it goes missing.

So what will the children be doing this year?

We know that the children will often tell you that they have just 'played' when you ask them what you have been up to during the day. The following pages will give you an insight into what they have been learning while they have been at school.
