Useful Information
Most of our learning in Preschool is done through play. The children are having fun whilst developing their skills and knowledge across a range of carefully planned activities and enhancements. This means that when they get home to you, they may very well tell you that they have been playing because to them, that is what they have been doing.
Reminders:
- PE is on a Thursday morning. PE is in the hall so children will need the usual shorts and T-shirt. It would be helpful if the children could have longer sports trousers such as leggings or jogging bottoms, a warm jumper or sports jacket and trainers or plimsoles as we have to go outside to get there. We request that PE kits are brought into school and left for the half term. We do a range of physical activity for both gross motor and fine motor skills through our activities both indoors and outdoors across the week also so if your child doesn't attend on a Thursday, please note that they are still receiving this element of curriculum on the days that they are.
- Each morning, we have milk and snack, if your child isn't registered on our milk list, water will be offered in place. Please go to the Cool Milk website for more information www.coolmilk.com
- We have snack time in the morning and this is free to your child. This is usually a small piece of fruit, a carrot or tomato.
- Water is freely available at almost all times of the day (just not at carpet time) and we encourage the children to independently help themselves to water at regular times during the day. There is no need to send a water bottle as each child has a cup readily available however we know that some children prefer their own bottle and will only drink from this. If you know this is the case, please speak to a member of the team.
- We will be going outside daily and in all weathers, so it is important that the children have suitable clothing for this. A waterproof coat is essential for wet weather and we recommend sun hat and lotion for the few sunny days that we get in this country!
- And finally.... please LABEL EVERYTHING that your child brings into school. That way, we can usually find things when they go missing.
