St. Peter's PTFA (Parent Teachers Friends Association)

This year (2023/2024), the PTFA is chaired by Victoria Burton, co-run by Robert Burton as Treasurer and Sarah Fisher, in close collaboration with Sarah Morrell as school liaison and our Parent Partnership lead.

Remember, everyone is automatically a St Peter's PTFA member! It is up to you how much you volunteer and support our excellent school community events. Without your help, school fundraising events would not take place, so thank you to all our volunteers - past, present and future! We particularly would love to hear from you if you have children in PreSchool, Reception and Year 1 so please do get in touch if you're able to help.

Information

St Peter’s PTFA is a group of people who work together to support the school. The group is made up of parents, teachers, friens, governors and any other interested members of the local community. It shares the school’s commitment to provide the very best opportunities for our children to learn and grow. One of the main activities of the PTFA is organising events to raise much-needed funds for the school. Over the last 12 months these have included children’s discos, the annual school barbecue, a fashion show, and a pop up gift shop for Mother's Day & Father's day.

The funds raised by the PTFA are spent in various areas of the school, ranging from special one off projects such as the new library  iPads and provision of cooled filtered water in the classrooms to more general items such as new books, furniture, curriculum tools and sports equipment. Decisions about where the funds are to be spent are made by the PTFA in conjunction with the Head/staff.

Events held by the PTFA not only raise funds for the school but also help parents and other members of the community to become actively involved with the school, bringing meaning to the school’s motto - ‘Together in Achievement’.

The PTFA fulfils an important function in providing social activities both for the children and their parents. It also enables the school to become involved in the community by participating in events such as the village show. PTFA meetings happen about once a term and as well as discussing future events the meetings also provide a forum for the Head to discuss any developments within the school and for the parents to give informal feedback to the Head. We are always looking for new members who share the schools aim to be ‘the best it can be’.

Some people come to each meeting and are actively involved in organising each event. Other people sign up to our ‘happy to help’ list and can then be called on to help out at events when they have the time to do so. All members of the local community are welcome whether they have a child at the school or not. Please consider whether you have a few hours to spare each month for this worthy and enjoyable role.

For more information please make contact via the school office, Head Teacher or any PTFA person.

Thank you for your support!
