    What is Irlen Syndrome?

Irlen Syndrome is a condition that affects how the brain processes visual information. This can make reading, writing or looking at bright lights more difficult or uncomfortable.
Some people may find that words move on the page, appear blurry or make their eyes feel tired. Others may be sensitive to light or find it hard to concentrate when reading.
Everyone’s experience is different. With the right support—such as coloured overlays, tinted lenses or adjustments to lighting—children with Irlen Syndrome can feel more comfortable and confident in their learning.
