I would like to start by giving a very warm welcome to all of the children and their parents! This year is already looking to be an exciting and busy one. We have had a wonderful first few days in school where the children have settled and adapted to new routines beautifully (and so have I!). Over time, some routines may need to change to ensure that learning runs as smoothly as possible.
Throughout the year, we will be: making a difference in the world, becoming masters of our learning, digging deeper into the mysteries of the world around us and discovering more about ourselves. Each day will be filled with opportunities for the children to create and explore. Our aim is for the children to work hard and challenge themselves to become excellent, enthusiastic and independent learners. Working alongside us this year will be Mrs Smith, who will be in class each day.
- Every two weeks a class newsletter will be uploaded to our class page on the school website sharing what we have been up to and homework.
- Please name all clothing and equipment.
- Please read with your child at least 3 times a week and ask them questions about the text. Record all reading in the calendar pages of their diary. This evidence of reading will earn them Take Care tokens, and bookmarks will be awarded for regular reading. I will check diaries and reading every Friday. Children should independently change their reading books when needed.
- Water bottles should be labelled and brought to school daily. If forgotten, we have cups in the classroom which children can use and wash afterwards. We also have a water cooler in the room.
- For this half term, PE days are Tuesday and Thursday. We will enjoy both indoor and outdoor sessions.
- The children do not need to bring a pencil case.
- If you need to contact me, please email parentcorrespondence@st-peters.notts.sch.uk or catch me at the end of the day once most children have been dismissed.
- Preloved uniform can always be found in school for you to help yourself.
- As always, clubs and dates can be found on the “Week at a Glance.”
Thank you,
Miss Fisher
