In Year 2, we use White Rose Maths to help children develop a strong understanding of numbers and mathematical thinking.

Our lessons focus on practical, hands-on activities, pictorial and written methods. Children are encouraged to explore, explain their thinking, solve problems and make connections between different areas of maths.

At the beginning of each maths block, we will state in our weekly newsletter which homework book to use to support the learning taking place in school. This will give you ideas and activities that you can complete together at home, helping your child to practise and reinforce the skills they are learning in class.
