What is Dyslexia?

Dyslexia is a learning difference that mainly affects reading, spelling and writing. It can make it harder to recognise words, remember spellings or read fluently.
Children with dyslexia often have many other strengths, such as creativity, problem-solving and thinking in unique ways. With the right support—such as extra time, different learning strategies or assistive technology—they can succeed and thrive.
Everyone with dyslexia is unique, and by learning more about it, we can help create a school environment where everyone feels supported, confident and ready to learn.
